At Rouje, every creation begins with expert craftsmanship and the skilled hands of our ateliers.
Rooted in the savoir-faire of expert ateliers, each piece reflects techniques passed down through generations and refined with constant care.
Precision of cut, thoughtful prototyping, and the mastery of artisanal gestures define every collection : from ready-to-wear to shoes and bags.
Committed to lasting partnerships, Rouje continues to bring its production closer to Europe, with Italy and Portugal at its core.
Italy contributes knitwear, accessories, and
specialized craftsmanship in leather goods and footwear, while Portugal produces a significant share of shoes, jerseys, and fluid, softly draped pieces.
BAGS
Rouje leather goods are rooted in a tradition of transmission and mastery over time.
In our Italian atelier, every step of crafting a bag relies on meticulous handwork: selecting leather for its tanning, suppleness, and texture; cutting by hand; assembling; edge-dyeing; finishing; and attaching hardware.
Learning is an integral part of the process, ensuring the continuity of gestures and the enduring legacy of leather craftsmanship.

DRESSES
For its dresses, Rouje relies on an atelier in Porto, Portugal, where textile expertise has been honed for over 35 years.
All production takes place on-site, from fabric reception to the start of manufacturing. Materials—particularly those sourced from Italy—are carefully selected for the quality of their drape. Each design goes through several prototypes and sample runs before final approval, ensuring a precise and lasting fit.

SHOES
Rouje shoes are crafted in Naples, within a family-run atelier where expertise has been passed down through generations.
Each pair is made entirely by hand: from cutting the leather to shaping the upper, and from nailing the soles piece by piece. The atelier also masters sole attachment and is among the few that still produce leather outsoles—a rare and precious savoir-faire. Finishing touches, including logo stamping, heel caps, and heel wrapping, are done on-site, followed by a final quality control to ensure every pair meets Rouje’s standards.
